Hidden Treasures.....

Are you one of those people who have new clothes hanging in the closet that you've never worn? I have friends that certainly fall in this category, but I am not one of them. If I get a new article of clothing I can guarantee that I will wear it within the week.
I am one of those people, however, that has a tendency to buy books, or receive books as gifts, that I forget to read.
See the great reads (or so I've heard) just gathering dust on my shelves....

Maybe one of these will be my next favorite book. What hidden treasures do you have patiently waiting on your bookshelves?

  1. I'm the same way!

Here are four on my pile of about 12:
The Princess Bridge by William Goldman
    Brida by Paulo Coelho
The Third Angel by Alice Hoffman
In the Kitchen by Monica Ali

But I won't get to them yet because I'm taking Shiver with me on a trip to NY this weekend.

  2. I read a sample of Shiver and it definitely made me want to read more. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for stopping by.

  3. I started the Silmarillion a while ago, but I never finished it. I know it's a great book--there is just so much on my to-read list. Right now I'm trying to get through Hunger Games. Good luck getting into the books.

  4. I have The Poisonwood Bible and Man's Search for Meaning. I've been meaning to read both FOREVER and they just never make it to the top of the pile!

  5. Ah, yes, the Silmarillion. I started that, got into it (though this was difficult because the writing is so deep and intense)and put it down...probably to watch my kids again.

Someday we'll cross that bridge, but for now I really want to get my own book 'deep' and 'intense'. =)

  6. Too many to name.

I do walk and browse and pick though. I have to bite into a few books before I finish one.
lazy, in a way, but I feel life is too short to waste on books that don't grab despite me trying (hard) to get into them.

    Cool blog!
