And that is why I try my best, even when I don't completely understand other people's passions, to try my best to be encouraging and enthusiastic.
The blog has, sadly, been quite for a while. But I hope to get things back into full swing soon! Thanks for stopping by! Yes, we who have passions need to be able to say why they matter. My colleagues ask me, "How was your weekend?" And I, too, can't just say, "I got in an extra hour of writing, and my chapter ended up where I wanted it to be." I remember recently coming in in a very good mood, and happened to tell someone that I had finished a draft. I got a confused smile. We writers (and skaters, and people who pursue serious passions like that) have to both understand that people who don't do what we do will inevitably see our passion as a hobby, and try to find more people who understand us. That's the beauty of social media (where I first met you!) and places like Twitter. That's where we can get that support, the fist-bumps for the things that matter.

My blog, too, has had its quiet periods when I have either great writing news or very sad personal news dominating my mind. People have to understand that, as well. This is a wonderful post reminding everyone of what it means to be a person with a passion, but also a life.

(from Diane at http://dianemagras.wordpress.com/, not Anonymous, despite what blogspot is trying to do, if the preview is any indication!)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6379773217495837003.post-5887870259575556732014-04-29T16:24:59.975-05:002014-04-29T16:24:59.975-05:00love this anita. you shouldn't have to hide wh...love this anita. you shouldn't have to hide what you really want to write about. you go, girl!Valeriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12122859709984705004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6379773217495837003.post-29863109415479498082014-03-10T19:09:12.507-05:002014-03-10T19:09:12.507-05:00Way to throw those stamp collecting bastards under...Way to throw those stamp collecting bastards under the bus!Optional Delusionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07493998490887182513noreply@blogger.com
